AppExchange App of the Week: BMC ServiceDesk on Force.com
This week’s App of the Week comes from BMC Software, a recognized leader in Business Service Management. Now their industry leading service desk offering is available as a SaaS application allowing you to leverage enterprise-class IT management completely in the cloud. BMC ServiceDesk is built on the force.com platform so you have Incident Management, Inventory Management and Self-Service capabilities without having to invest in new equipment, infrastructure, and software maintenance.
And there is an added bonus! We recently launched Aloha Apps—the new unlimited app category from salesforce.com. Aloha Apps don’t count against your system limits for apps, tabs, and objects no matter which salesforce.com edition you’re using.* Since BMC Service Desk on Force.com is an Aloha App, the fact that it requires 123 Custom Objects and 88 Custom Tabs does not prevent customers from tapping into an app from an industry leader.

The Incident Management Module has easily customizable dashboards:
Inventory Management functionality provides asset tracking and configuration management for hardware, software, and services.
Finally, the Self Service Portal lets users across your company find solutions to their issues greatly decreasing help desk costs.
